First Names Group scoops up two Citywealth IFC awards

Friday 22 January 2016

First Names Group was the big winner at Wednesday night’s Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards, claiming both Channel Islands trust company awards: ‘Trust Company of the Year – Jersey’ and ‘Trust Company of the Year – Guernsey’.

Now in their fifth year, the Citywealth IFC Awards have been designed to highlight excellence among the advisors and managers in the private wealth sector in the world’s major international financial centres.

The awards were judged by an international panel made up of highly respected practitioners from all sectors, who have experience working with advisors in each of the jurisdictions covered. First Names Group and the other winning entrants were recognised as having excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service.

Winners were announced last night at an awards dinner in London, at which a gang of ‘First Names’ were in attendance. Collecting the award for ‘Trust Company of the Year – Jersey’ was the Managing Director of our Jersey business, Ben Newman. The award for ‘Trust Company of the Year – Guernsey’ was picked up by David Preston, Managing Director of First Names Group in Guernsey.

After receiving the Jersey award, Mr Newman said: “I am thrilled that we’ve won this award and feel incredibly proud of all our hard-working and dedicated ‘First Names’, without whom this achievement would not have been possible.

"Jersey is the Group’s head office with over 200 ‘First Names’ in its ranks, so receiving this accolade is very significant to both the Jersey business and the Group as a whole. The fact we’re taking home this award and the one for Guernsey too is an absolutely fantastic result for us and a welcome testament to the strength of our business as we continue to grow and flourish, both locally and internationally.”
