C5 Alliance in Guernsey has appointed Cem Bars as client relationship Manager in its growing sales team.

Mr Bars is a sales professional with more than 10 years’ experience across the entertainment, media and technology industries.

After growing up in Guernsey, he obtained a degree in Marketing and Advertising from the London College of Communications before working as an account executive for Carlton Screen Advertising (now Wide Eye Media). Relocating to Sydney, Australia in 2006 he continued to develop his career at Val Morgan Cinema Network and Fairfax Media before joining multinational computer technology company Dell as a senior account manager.

During his time at Dell, Mr Bars acquired in-depth knowledge of its hardware infrastructure and managed service offerings, while continuing develop his networking and communication skills and his ability to recognise untapped business opportunities.

In his new role, he will help C5 Alliance develop these opportunities across its managed services and business solutions divisions (particularly bespoke software development), by engaging with members of the local business community and identifying how technology can bring value to their companies.

Marc Lainé, managing director of C5 Alliance in Guernsey said the appointment would add huge value to the company’s sales team.

“Cem brings with him some highly relevant experience from his time with Dell and is already very familiar with the culture and terminology of our industry. “He is highly personable and a skilled networker, but his true talent lies in his ability to communicate with business decision makers in their own language. This allows him to unearth a more realistic picture of a potential client’s requirements and match those needs with the most effective solutions we can offer.

“Cem will be a great asset to both of C5’s divisions and will help us to continue to deliver the best service to clients across the island,” he said.
