JT will once again be present at Digital ACE on Saturday 11 February – an online safety event expected to attract thousands of Islanders to Beau Sejour.

Organised by the Online Safety Committee for Guernsey schools, Digital ACE aims to provide young people and adults with an environment that can feed and support their aspirations, provide inspiration and tools to create new things, and empower them to learn, discover and be safe in the digital world.

Reaffirming its position as a responsible communications provider, JT is pleased to participate again. Staff will be manning a stand in the Empower Zone, where they will be offering step-by-step guidance on how to configure devices such as iPads and handsets safely, as well as giving advice to address people’s online safety concerns, including handing out a practical guide covering helpful tips for intenet safety.

Deputy Managing Director, JT (Guernsey) Tamara O’Brien said: “We’re pleased to once again be involved with Digital ACE and anything we can do to support Islanders to enjoy the internet safely is a priority for us. Our team are experienced and have product knowledge to be able to assist people in setting up their devices and they will be on hand to give the guidance that parents need to confidently manage their children’s safe use of the internet.”

JT has been a member of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) for four years, which means it is part of a global network of organisations working together to create a safer internet and to protect children online. Furthermore, the team in JT’s St Peter Port shop offer customers advice on how to make use of the latest technological solutions, such as enabling their Internet routers to block certain sites and as to what parental controls are available and how they can be set-up to suit a user’s individual needs. JT sells state-of-the-art routers such as the TP Link router, which has in built parental controls. All JT’s advice and guidance is available on its website at: http://www.jtglobal.com/Guernsey/Personal/Broadband/Also-in-Broadband/e-safety/
