Ogier's Guernsey team continues to grow with the appointment of one of Guernsey's top trust lawyers, Advocate Gavin Ferguson, and a team of senior associates.

Gavin has joined the partnership effective from 1 May – his arrival follows the recruitment of Craig Cordle in the investment funds team and Advocate Martyn Baudains, who established Ogier's property law team, in the last 18 months.

The arrivals mean that Ogier now has one of the largest private client and trusts teams in the island.

"Gavin's appointment demonstrates the continued growth and development of our Guernsey office," said practice partner Advocate Marcus Leese.

"Ogier's business is built on the quality of our people. We're committed to attracting, training and retaining the most talented and able people to best serve our clients. I'm delighted that Gavin has chosen to join us."

Known as one of Guernsey's top trust lawyers, Gavin will work alongside Marcus, with the team of associates, to further develop Ogier's private client practice in Guernsey.

In addition to Gavin's arrival, senior associate fiduciary lawyers Chris Hards and Alice Bricogne have joined the private wealth team and Mike Richards has joined Bryon Rees's corporate and funds team as a senior associate.

Those arrivals follow on the heels of the recruitment of Counsel Alex Horsbrugh-Porter and associate Michael Rogers in Ogier's Guernsey dispute resolution team earlier this year, and the arrivals of new partners James Campbell and Anthony Partridge in the private client and trusts teams in Jersey and Cayman respectively.

A Guernsey and BVI law specialist, Gavin provides contentious and non-contentious fiduciary services to high net worth individuals, corporate clients and charities. He advises on all aspects of trust and foundation law and also advises on regulatory matters, general private client matters and has an interest in sharia compliant structures.

Independent legal directories Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 have quoted client feedback describing Gavin as "one of the island's top trust lawyers" and "astute, affable, technically knowledgeable and efficient".
