Full Description

Our client is looking for an Associate to join their litigation team. This team helps clients solve their problems and protect their interests.

The Associate will help to enhance the Jersey Litigation team and improve their already award winning client service.

Working as part of a team, you will be providing a full range of litigation services to clients. This will entail supporting the partner(s) and taking principal responsibility as appropriate for cases involving a variety of contentious work, including contentious trust and company, cross border fraud and insolvency.

Main responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

Providing an efficient and high quality legal support service to the partners (or senior lawyers) across all aspects of their client work to include researching, writing opinions, reviewing documentation, drafting, preparing cases for court.
Assisting in the promotion and development of the litigation team as a whole in the Channel Islands and across our jurisdictions by working with the Partners and assistants across the jurisdictions and engaging in business development and know how activities.
Taking personal responsibility for the management of matters (with appropriate supervision depending on your level).
Assisting in the promotion, development and implementation of the practice areas business plans.
Promote and strengthen the companies brand.
Within the Groups strategy, contribute as required to the development and implementation of the firm's business development plans, with the aim of attracting more work from existing clients and developing new client relationships.

You must have relevant litigation experience and have excellent written and verbal English skills.

The right candidate will have a UK or Commonwealth legal qualification with between 2 and 6 years post qualification experience. Being qualified as a Jersey advocate is desirable but not essential.
