Burglars dump homeowner's car in the sea

Wednesday 29 March 2017

Police are appealing for witnesses after burglars stole hundreds of pounds’ worth of electrical items from a home, before dumping the householder’s car into the sea – all while the residents were sleeping.

Thought to have occurred last night, the break-in saw thieves leave a Gorey Village property with two electric guitars, including a black Fender Squire bass and a White Fender Strat.

Also part of their haul was a 13-inch Macbook Pro Laptop, two digital cameras and their lenses (Canon and Pentax) and a blue BOSE wireless speaker.

The thieves then made off with the home owner’s blue Nissan Micra, which was later found submerged on Ouaisne Beach.

Police now fear that the items may be put up for sale, and are asking those who have been approached or offered any of the above to contact them immediately.

Witnesses or those with any information are asked to contact Police Headquarters on 612 612 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
