Le beach, c'est chic

Lights, camera, fashion have hit Jersey, after a French fashion brand chose various locations around the Island to backdrop their latest campaign.

Normandy-based brand Saint James brought a dash of French chic to Jersey's streets and beaches when they photographed their Autumn/Winter 2017 collection there last month.

Liaising with parishes through the Maison de Normandie, the high quality clothing company expressed their enthusiasm to come to Jersey to capture the images for their advertising campaign and catalogue. They were subsequently granted permission to work across St Helier, St Brelade, St Martin and Trinity.

Other venues highlighted in the shoot included The Square, The Old Courthouse, El Tico, Ormer, Rosie's Tea Room, and Havre des Pas beach (below).

Established in 1889 in the commune of Saint-James, near Mont Saint-Michel, the brand is known for its pure wool seaman's sweaters - originally intended for deep sea fishermen, and later adopted by seafarers and amateur yachtsmen.

Due to France's nautical and historical link to Jersey, Saint James described the Island as, "...the perfect location" to shoot their latest designs, "...not only because of its closeness and its cultural and historical links to Normandy, but also because the beauty of Jersey’s scenery and atmosphere offer a magnificent setting for a company aiming to promote high quality clothing for the outdoors.”
