Harvey Biljon's side suffered a third defeat in a row, going down to a determined and gritty London Welsh at Old Deer Park.
These are worrying times for Biljon as he has seen his team start the season in outstanding form, only for one loss to follow another, and another as his side have come second best in their last three fixtures.
Jersey enjoyed a commanding early lead of 3-12 following well-orchestrated tries by Watkins and Lane, but their initial dominance was not a sign of things to come.
The exiles responded with two driving maul tries and a penalty just before the break gave the Welsh an 18-15 half-time advantage.
Jersey managed a penalty of their own shortly after the break to make it 18-18 but the home side then hit back with another try.
The missed conversion meant it was only a five-point game, but despite the Welsh going down to 14 men, Biljon's team could not drive home their numerical advantage into points.
It is yet another setback to Jersey's season which started so brightly wins back-to-back wins over Richmond and Bedford.
Defeats to Ealing and Nottingham followed, but this latest loss will hurt Biljon, who was hoping his side would bonce back with a win at the Welsh.
