Police name teen who died at sand dunes

Monday 08 February 2016

The teenager who died at the sand dunes on Friday evening has been named as 14-year-old Eoin Corcoran.

The Les Quennevais School student died of injuries suffered at the dunes between 5 and 6 pm on Friday.

Police officers are investigating what happened on Friday, and have asked witnesses to come forward.

In their initial statement, they said that they were not treating the incident as suspicious.

A statement by the police says that Eoin’s family have asked to be allowed to grieve in private.

Eoin’s school opened its doors yesterday to offer support to his friends and other pupils who have been affected by his death.

The police say that they want to speak to anyone who was around the dunes between 5 and 6 pm on Friday, and have asked people to get in touch on 612612 or on the anonymous Crimestoppers number 0800 555111.
