Alderney Chamber of Commerce offered small businesses a chance to attend recent Artificial intelligence (AI) workshops, to ensure they aren’t being left behind.

The workshops were delivered by filmmaker and social media strategist Cameron Cairnduff.

Chamber Members were taught how to use tools like Chat GPT and Google Gemini to generate press releases, emails, business plans and competitor analyses in minutes.

The aim of the workshops was “to learn powerful ways for Alderney’s business community to reach wider audiences and work more efficiently”.

Alderney Chamber of Commerce said they were “keen to ensure local businesses aren’t left behind.”

The beginner-friendly workshop was held last month, with 29 people attending from across Alderney’s business community.

Mr Cairnduff opened the session by demystifying AI and showing how it’s already part of daily life—through tools like Google Search, predictive text, and shopping recommendations.

He said: “The aim was to make it approachable. I really want to give Alderney residents a chance to use AI tools to help themselves and the island.”

Mr Cairnduff led a live demonstration using AI tools including ElevenLabs for voiceovers, Opus Clip for video editing, Suno for AI-generated music, Photoshop AI, and ChatGPT.

He also explained ‘custom GPTs’ – an AI model fine-tuned to perform specific tasks such as answering customer queries, generating content, or assisting with research.

Common concerns were answered and the feedback was positive, with many describing the session as “eye-opening and energising.”
