It’s after it was granted the first licence to cultivate cannabis on-island after Guernsey signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK Home Office earlier this year.
Work has now begun on a pharmaceutical-grade indoor cultivation facility. It’ll utilise organic cultivation techniques based on cannabis genetics developed within the Canadian medical cannabis market.

The licence was granted after an extensive review of 4C’s business plan and a subsequent site visit.
“4C LABS was established in 2018 to cultivate and process cannabis-based medical products which address specific medical conditions to improve patients quality of life,” said 4C CEO, Greg Dobbin.
“We are delighted that with the approval of our cultivation licence, we can take the next steps in the development of our business and our vision to cultivate GMP craft Medical Cannabis, and establish a series of medical clinics accessed through a user-friendly technology platform to better service patients.”

4C expects to have its first crop available for distribution by the start of 2023.
Furthermore, it intends to open virtual and physical clinics allowing them to treat patients and prescribe medicinal cannabis in the future.
