It is being established “to support and facilitate achievement of the Digital Economy vision, and the overarching Digital Framework, through the creation and implementation of a Guernsey Innovation Plan (‘the Plan’),” said ED.

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, Member of the Committee for Economic Development, said: “The Committee is pleased to announce the start of the recruitment process for the new Board, which will drive the government’s vision for the Digital Economy by delivering the Guernsey Innovation Plan together with the next phase of the Digital Framework.

“This supports the Committee’s approach in establishing more robust governance structures with industry and community to drive forward the delivery of economic development policies essential for our future competitiveness and productivity. It will take on the development of a 3-year strategy, titled the Guernsey Innovation Plan 2026-2029, with a business justification and funding request.

Appointments to the Board will initially comprise of a Chair, who will be expected to work a minimum of 24 days a year, and four Board members, who will each be expected to work a minimum of ten days a year.

Gareth Jones, Director of Business & Economy, said: “We want to attract local leaders in digital innovation to help achieve our vision for Guernsey’s Digital Economy, develop a robust Plan and implement in the manner it believes will be the most effective and efficient.

“If you are a senior level director, an ex-director, or a company MD, with demonstrable experience of leading and successfully implementing examples of digital innovation, we want to hear from you.”
