Entries are now being accepted for this year’s Guernsey Design Awards.

Held every two years, the programme is organised by Norman Piette in conjunction with RIBA Guernsey and CIAT Channel Islands to highlight excellence across the Bailiwick’s buildings.

The awards cover a broad spectrum of work, including new builds, restorations, and infrastructure.

The 2026 awards are highlighting a greater focus on Guernsey’s environment and eco-system, with two new awards featuring in the 2026 edition.

There’s the new ‘Sustainable Design & Energy Innovation Award’ sponsored by C8 Eco, and the ‘Natural Light & Glazing Design Award’ which has been sponsored by Mumford & Wood.

Those aren’t the only changes to the awards since they were last held in 2024.

There’s now a £50 fee per project, which organisers say has been introduced to support the long-term running of the event.

Also judging has now been moved to later in the year to take advantage of better light and viewing conditions for the projects.

Steve Powell of Norman Piette said the awards still aim to celebrate quality and creativity across projects of all sizes.

“The Guernsey Design Awards celebrate quality, care and creativity. Every project, whether large or small, reflects collaboration, skill and commitment, and we are proud to continue supporting an event that recognises and promotes these standards across the island.”

David Sherwill-Zopf, representing RIBA Guernsey, said the awards look to champion the positive impact of architecture on the local community.

“RIBA Guernsey is proud to support the Guernsey Design Awards 2026, celebrating local design excellence and championing creativity, innovation, and the positive impact that thoughtful architecture brings to our community.”
