The programme – titled Leaders of Tomorrow, which is sponsored by the Ana Leaf Foundation – seeks to prepare young islanders for future high-profile roles in the business community.
The current group of sixth formers will tomorrow attend the IoD monthly breakfast to hear from representatives from the GDA, which will coordinate and execute development projects across the island going forward at arms-length from the States.
The focus will be on the regeneration of the Bridge.
The scheme also comes with a yearlong membership with the IoD.
The IoD’s Future Leaders Summit also took place on 23 November at Mourant, where the students discovered what opportunities are available for school leavers on the island. Sam Jones, the keynote speaker, who is hailed as the most successful Dragon’s Den candidate ever, founded Gener8; a company that allows people to stop their online data from being collected and sold on for people to earn money from it.
Hayley de Putron, a Trustee of the Ana Leaf Foundation, said: “Our aim has always been to provide students with opportunities to help them stand out in their lives and be the best they can be. We’re proud that this programme will give our young community the chance to interact with business leaders.”
