Michael Whitehouse OBE has been appointed as Chairman, and Cosette Reczek as an Independent Member – both for five-year terms.
The appointments were approved by the States Assembly this week. The Comptroller and Auditor General, Lynn Pamment CBE, expressed her support for the States Assembly’s recent appointments to the Board of Governance for the Office of the C&AG.
Mr Whitehouse and Ms Reczek will take up their new roles on 14 March 2025, joining existing Board members Robert Tinlin MBE and Peter Pichler.
Ms Pamment said: “I welcome the States Assembly’s decision to appoint a new Chair and Independent Member to the Board of Governance.
“I extend my gratitude to retiring Chair Grace Nesbitt for her leadership and significant contribution since 2021 as Chair, and as a Board Member since 2018.
“As well as Grace’s term of office ending in March 2025, Independent Member Professor Russel Griggs OBE will also have served his maximum time allowed within the role and will be retiring from the Board at the same time. I thank him for his guidance and dedication to the Jersey Audit Office over many years.
“I look forward to working with Michael, Cosette and the continuing Members of the Board, when the new appointees assume their roles on 14 March 2025.”
The C&AG added: “The Board of Governance plays a vital role in ensuring accountability for the public funds allocated to the Jersey Audit Office.
“It oversees the efficient, effective, and proper use of resources by the C&AG, designed to safeguard public confidence in our operations.”
