A local IT and tech firm is hosting training sessions for third sector organisations.

In collaboration with the Association of Jersey Charities and the IoD Jersey, SystemLabs will host a two-part training event designed to provide charities with the skills needed to strengthen their cyber defences and “unlock the potential” of AI.

The sessions require no technical knowledge and aim to be clear, practical and jargon-free.

Session one, held on Tuesday 8 July from 4-6pm, will cover the human firewall. Attendees will learn how to spot threats and become active participants in defending their organisation from cyberattacks.

Session two, held on Wednesday 16 July from 4-6pm, will explore how AI can streamline admin, spark innovation and improve productivity.

Both sessions will be hosted at Digital Jersey.

“We are delighted to be supporting this initiative to help empower charities with vital digital skills,” said Steve Quinn, Chief Executive Officer at SystemLabs.

“These sessions will provide knowledge for third sector organisations to better protect themselves as well as to enhance their productivity, further helping our Island community.”

Marcus Liddiard, Chairperson of the Association of Jersey Charities, said: “In today’s digital world, charities in Jersey face growing risks and opportunities. Cyber security protects their mission, while AI can amplify their productivity and impact.

“The Association of Jersey Charities is committed to supporting training in these areas to help our members stay safe, effective and future-ready.”
