Alderney’s spectacular Bonfire Night returns on Saturday November 5th thanks to support from local businesses, members of the community and the States of Alderney’s States Works, Tourism and Fire Service.
After missing a year in 2021 due to the pandemic, the island community has pulled together to make this year’s event one to remember.
Billed as “Powered by the Community and The States”, the popular event takes place on The Butes from 6.30pm with a bonfire built by States Works and fireworks by Mark Maurice, with the Fire Service on hand to ensure public safety. The Dude Food van will be serving burgers and hot dogs from 6pm.
A few parents of young families have got together with Mark Maurice and the General Services Committee (GSC) to organise the Bonfire Night and raise funds. The team asks
parents to ensure that children are supervised on the night and also advises dog owners to keep their pets indoors.
“We’re delighted to support this year’s Bonfire Night and we’re very grateful for the hard work put in by the organisers and the enthusiastic support shown by so many,” said GSC Chairman Boyd Kelly.
Contact Holly Chandler at holly@fishandpips.co.uk about how to donate – all sponsors will get a mention at the event and on social media.
