Aurigny, Guernsey’s Airline, has confirmed it has activated its Weatherflex policy for those travelling Saturday, 4th of October, on selected routes that may be disrupted due to the forecast high winds.

The policy allows those who are due to travel on these dates to adjust their travel plans by up to five days from their original scheduled departure date, without charge. The airline has said it plans to operate the services where safe conditions permit.

Flexibility has been offered on the following routes:

  • Guernsey – Alderney
  • Alderney – Southampton
  • Guernsey – Manchester
  • Guernsey – Birmingham
  • Guernsey – Bristol

A spokesperson for Aurigny said: “Our teams have been carefully monitoring the forecast, and in anticipation of possible disruption, we’ve chosen to activate our Weatherflex policy. This gives travellers the flexibility to adjust their travel plans with complete peace of mind. We still intend to operate flights on these routes wherever it is safe to do so.”

They added: “We understand how important certainty is when travelling, and we hope this flexibility helps those in our community to make the decision that feels right for them this weekend.”

For added reassurance and complete peace of mind, we always recommend suitable travel insurance.

Aurigny also notes that its phone lines are busier during times of weather disruption and requests that travellers only call if their enquiry is urgent in relation to imminent travel plans, prioritising those most in need.

Those with affected flights have been contacted directly via email with details of how to make the changes. More information on Aurigny’s Weatherflex policy can be found at: https://www.aurigny.com/weatherflex
