At this year’s Go Wild Golf Day, Durrell was pleased to welcome 22 teams of four to tee off at La Moye Golf Club to help raised funds for the international charity’s work saving endangered wildlife. This was the Trust’s third Go Wild Golf Day, thanks to the continued support of Rathbone Investment Management International.

On Friday 11th June, the teams played at La Moye Golf Club and, together, helped to raise an incredible £14,000 for Durrell’s work recovering threatened wildlife, reviving precious habitats and reconnecting people to nature.

The charity was delighted to have Rathbones on board as the event sponsor for the third year running.  Alan Martin, Investment Director of Rathbones, said: “The work of Durrell is extremely important not just here in Jersey but around the world. Whilst we were delighted to support this charity golf event and hope everyone had an enjoyable day, what pleases us the most is that it enabled Durrell to continue their magnificent work through the funds raised. This is our third year supporting this great golf day and we are looking forward to future events with the amazing Durrell team.”

Dr Lesley Dickie, Chief Executive of Durrell, added: “We are so pleased that our third Go Wild Golf Day was such a success, and we are very grateful to our loyal event sponsor Rathbones for their generous support, which has allowed us to hold these events despite the challenges of the last 18 months. I would like to thank everyone who took part, and all of us at Durrell are so appreciative of the incredible funds raised. With our visitor numbers still significantly lower than previous years, these funds will go a long way in helping us care for the unique and endangered species we have here at Jersey Zoo.”

This year’s Go Wild Golf Day was won by a team from Santander, captained by Richard Thomas, who will hold on to the coveted trophy until next year’s event on Friday1st July 2022. In second place was a team called Fody Dody, captained by Nick Cuttiford, and in third place was Infrasoft Technologies, captained by Tim Cartwright.
