Jersey Hospice Care has welcomed back hundreds of supporters to its Beau Pre, St Ouen fundraising shop since reopening for sales and donations last week.
The shop has been able to reopen following changes to Government of Jersey (GoJ) Coronavirus guidance, provided it meets the GoJ Safe Exit Framework advice for businesses. The priority for Hospice has been the protection of customers, staff and volunteers, and their families from Covid-19. A number of physical distancing and hygiene measures have been introduced.
These include:
Customers are greeted at the entrance to the shop, offered guidance and there is clear signage detailing important advice for customers. The shop is open for donations Mon to Sat (10am to 4pm) and for sales on Mon, Weds, Fri and Sat (10am to 4pm). Further details on the shop can be found on the Hospice website.

Julie Jubb, Shop Manager at Jersey Hospice Care said: “Since having to close our shops in March, we’ve had many enquiries as to when our shops will be open again. Our community want to support us in donating items we can sell in our shops and buying goods to support Hospice services. We are so pleased to have reopened and welcomed supporters back, while making sure everyone remains safe. The measures we’ve put in place seem to be working well and we’ve had really positive feedback from customers”.
Yannick Fillieul, Director of Operations and Business Development at Jersey Hospice Care said: “One of Hospice’s key sources of income comes from the sale of donated items in our fundraising shops, and every penny goes towards providing free care to people when they need it most. Opening Beau Pre safely and in line with government guidelines has been our number one priority. This has been a team effort and it’s really fantastic to see our staff and volunteers back at Beau Pre, supporting our customers and the community”.
The Hospice St Helier fundraising shop remains closed at this time.
