What better way to start the Christmas season than an evening of fabulous music performed by the Jersey Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Morley and led by Martin Smith. Andrew is director of the Junior Trinity Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Elstree Concert Band and St. Paul’s Sinfonia.
Our Soloist is Rob Burton who won the Woodwind Category of the BBC’s Young Musician of 2018. He will be playing Coates ‘Saxo-Rhapsody’. Rob studies Classical Saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music with Huw Wiggin.
The programme includes Prokofiev’s ‘Lieutenant Kije’, Tchaikovsky’s ‘Romeo and Juliet Overture’, ‘A Christmas Overture’ by Nigel Hess and ‘Quidditch’ and by John Williams.
Beaulieu Convent School Chamber Choir directed by Gitte-Maj Donoghue will be joining the orchestra to sing John Rutter’s ‘Nativity Carol’ and Edmund Walters ‘Babe of Bethlehem’.
Mince pies and mulled wine will be available in the interval to the accompaniment of carols played by the Salvation Army Band.
