Accountants society bursaries for 2014

Monday 06 October 2014

The Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants has chosen two Jersey students to receive funding through its annual bursary scheme.

Former JCG student Megan John is the recipient of £5,000 towards a masters degree in natural sciences at Bath University, while Old Victorian Liam Waugh Bacchus-Millen will receive £1,000 per year to help fund his studies in mathematics, operational research, statistics and economics at Warwick University.

Launched in 2010, the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants (JSCCA) bursary is designed to financially assist Jersey undergraduates studying for a degree in a business-related subject.

The President of the JSCCA, Andrew Quinn, said: “This year marks a particularly significant milestone in the JSCCA’s history, and we are clearly delighted that, in the JSCCA’s 40th anniversary year, we are able to continue to support some exceptional local students in becoming the business leaders of tomorrow. We received some really strong applications from a number of candidates, so I congratulate Megan and Liam on their success.”

Established in 1974, the JSCCA promotes and supports the accountancy profession in Jersey and has over 750 members from across different accountancy bodies.
