Director and governance consultancy business Altair has welcomed a new Client Director and Consultant to its team in Jersey.

Niall Husbands is a qualified investment and banking professional with leadership and regulated board experience internationally, holding senior general management positions in wealth management and fiduciary services.

He has led financial services businesses across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa for a global bank. Since 2012he has specialised in fiduciary services in Jersey, notably in the funds and private wealth sectors. 

He was co-opted to the Board of Trustees of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust at the start of 2024 and chairs the investment oversight committee. He sits on the Membership Committee of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) and was previously the President of the Jersey Branch. 

Mr Husbands was a co-founder of the Channel Islands Treasurer's Association and from 2018 to 2022,was a judge on the Private Asset Manager Awards, chairing the Sustainable Investment and UHNW Total Wealth Solutions sub-committees. He also trained as an interpreter.

Mr Husbands said it was "exciting" to be joining an "unconflicted team of experts to offer perspective and insight".

In addition to Altair's independent director services, he will focus on our consultancy offering, working with fiduciaries and family offices.”
