Another record-breaking year for charity lunches

Friday 21 March 2014

An annual lunch for women has this year raised £12,911.06 to be divided between the Jersey Teenage Cancer Trust and Jersey Hospice Care.

Jersey By Invitation Only holds the fundraising lunch on the second Saturday of March each year and this year it took place at The Royal Yacht Hotel. The money was raised from ticket and merchandise sales, a raffle and donations.

Founder Emma-Louise Nash said: “This year some very generous donations were also received and this has enabled us to have a record breaking year donating £12,911.06 to Jersey Teenage Cancer Trust and Jersey Hospice Care. The luncheons started in 2008 and have raised a total of £48,639.30, so thank you to everyone who has supported over the years."

The event is not only a great way for ladies to stay in touch by promising to meet just once a year and enjoy a lovely lunch, it’s also a means of raising much needed funds for a worthy cause, she added.

The next lunch will take place on Saturday 14 March 2015.
