Capita extend football sponsorship

Tuesday 12 April 2016

The Jersey FA and Capita Asset Services have announced a new three-year sponsorship deal to support the JFA Centre of Excellence (boys) and the Player Development Centre (girls).

Capita has a long standing relationship with the Jersey FA and it has been its main sponsor since 2007.

JFA Capita Centre of Excellence Director Paul Renton said: “It’s great news that Capita has renewed its sponsorship. Their funding, together with the fantastic parental support we receive, allows us to offer a coaching and games programme for our best young players.”

Anthony O’Keeffe, Divisional Director of Capita Asset Services added: “Capita is delighted to continue to play a part in the development of young football talent on the island, through its sponsorship of the JFA Capita Centre of Excellence and the JFA Capita Player Development Centre.  Equipped with the tools they need to develop their skills, we look forward to seeing some of the next generation of football stars emerge from the centres.”

Both the Jersey FA Capita Centre of Excellence and Capita Player Development Centre provide an advanced player pathway for boys and girls with identified talent and potential. With the support of Capita the Centres have grown exponentially from a single group of Under-14 players, to one which now consists of 166 players in eleven age groups, from Under-12s to Under-18s for both boys and girls.

Founded in 1986, this year the Centre of Excellence celebrates its 30th anniversary. The sponsorship provided by Capita will enable a team of 24 FA qualified coaches to continue its vision of creating and developing a programme that produces technically gifted players with good decision making skills.

Head of Football Development Brian Oliver said: “We are very pleased that Capita has continued with its support. The work at the Centres, on top of that already provided by Clubs and Schools, is crucial to creating the next generation of talented players.”

Director of the Capita Player Development Centre Jodie Botterill added: “Great news that Capita has renewed its sponsorship as we continue to build on the recent successes within girls and womens football.”
