Carey Olsen's Jersey property team has advised ITV plc on the lease of its new state-of-the-art newsroom and production studios, Le Capelain House, Castle Quay on St Helier's waterfront.
The station has embarked on a significant programme of investment to refit the space to its precise requirements including the creation of an HD newsroom and the installation of the latest broadcast technology.
Broadcasting began in the new studios on 8 June after nearly three decades in the previous premises at La Pouquelaye.
Carey Olsen partner, Chris Philpott, and senior associate, Will Whitehead, acted to negotiate the lease and pre-let arrangements on behalf of the television company.
Managing director for ITV Channel Television, Karen Rankine, said: "This has been a significant undertaking involving many months of planning. We are very pleased with how well it has gone and the hard work that was invested ensured there were no interruptions to our news output in the Channel Islands."
Mr Philpott said: "The relocation of ITV's Jersey operations to the Quay adds to the growing diversity of St Helier's waterfront business district and supports the upward trend that we are seeing in commercial property transactions in Jersey."
Carey Olsen has been involved in several recent deals that demonstrate the buoyancy of the Jersey market, including Polygon Properties Limited’s £4.5 million acquisition of JP Morgan House, Forum 4, Grenville Street, Hand Picked Hotels' acquisition of Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa and the sale of Jacksons CI group.
