Jersey's key business lobby group, the Chamber of Commerce, has welcomed a new Vice President.
John Shenton, who is Head of Tax at Grant Thornton, was welcomed to the new role by President Jennifer Carnegie.
"John brings a wealth of knowledge to the Chamber Executive Council which will be invaluable to the entire business community, as Chamber continues to represent the interests of the economy in the coming years. With over 35 years' experience in advising on Jersey related and international tax issues, a Chartered Tax Advisor and previously, the founding chairman of the local branch of The Chartered Institute of Taxation, we very much welcome him to our team," she said.
"With Brexit, the Government Plan, Island Plan and a review of taxation, all on the Government agenda, John will be a key member of Chamber working for the benefit of local businesses, with the overarching aim of maintaining Jersey as a special place to live and work for all its residents and I'm very grateful for the support he has offered to me personally and to Chamber."
