Jersey Cheshire Home appoints new CEO

Friday 20 November 2020

Jersey Cheshire Home has appointed a fundraiser of nearly a decade as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Donna Abel, who has been helping out the charity since 2011, taking part in numerous fundraising treks, will succeed David Lord on his retirement at the end of 2020.

A Chartered Fellow of the Management Institute of Personnel Development, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management, Ms Abel also holds an Institute of Directors Certificate, as well as diplomas in coaching, mentoring and psychology among others.

Ms Abel said "I am delighted to be appointed CEO of the Jersey Cheshire Home. It is important to me to do what makes you happy and this role provides me with a real opportunity to make a meaningful difference. Together with the fantastic team already in situ, we will continue to drive continuous improvement for a truly people centred Home built on a culture of care, and one which genuinely feels like a home; full of fun, love and laughter. As a facility and a charity that cares for some of Jersey's most physically disabled, my role as CEO will be to fulfil the mission of the Home which is to enhance lives."
