Senior appointment at Crestbridge

Wednesday 23 February 2022

Crestbridge has appointed a new Director and Senior Compliance Officer.

Based in Jersey, Ellie Sharples will be responsible for the monitoring of operational performance and management of all regulatory and compliance matters to ensure the business adheres to its own internal policies and procedures and to regulatory obligations.

Ellie will also manage Crestbridge’s regulatory relationship with the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

With over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Ellie has specialist expertise in risk and corporate governance as well as proven leadership skills.

Before joining Crestbridge, she spent four years as a senior manager at the JFSC, leading a team of Regulatory Supervisors responsible for assessing Jersey banks’ compliance with financial services regulations, local and international laws.

Ellie was also a member of a Government working group responsible for its National Risk Assessment for Money Laundering, leading the banking sector team which produced the initial AML risk assessment report for the sector.

Before that, Ellie headed up the International Personal Banking division of an international bank and was also an Executive Director within their Channel Islands’ office, holding both governance and client facing roles.

Glen Nelson, Crestbridge’s Head of Risk, Jersey said: “Ellie’s appointment is the latest in a number of senior appointments to Crestbridge’s Group risk function and further demonstrates the business’s commitment to ensuring its first-class capabilities in respect to risk, compliance, and AML and our associated obligations.

“Ellie’s expertise in local financial regulations, laws and codes of practice will make her an invaluable addition to our experienced team.”
