Digital Jersey has set up a centre to support business, students and the community to take up the opportunities of the digital age. It opens today at The Forum in Grenville Street with an open day.

Digital Jersey Hub (The Hub) has been designed to provide an innovative and creative environment and to promote collaboration, business development, community engagement, networking, learning and skills development.

The Chairman for Digital Jersey, Paul Masterton, said The Hub was a commitment to creating a healthy digital community in the Island.

“Change is underway in Jersey and we are working to ensure Jersey has the right conditions for success, whether that means securing a job in the digital technology sector, starting a business or developing digital skills,” he said.

The Hub offers:

  • Skills zone for learning and education, skills and professional development
  • Co-working zone for flexible office space, support needed for start-ups and business development
  • Events space for presentations and workshops
  • Support zone, where the Digital Jersey team is based
  • Access to mentors and a business accelerator

Digital Jersey says a number of companies, individuals and community groups who have already been involved have provided extremely positive feedback on this space for like-minded people to collaborate.

Mr Masterson sees The Hub providing the catalyst for making the Island a digital sector.

“New to Jersey, The Hub takes the best of business accelerators and incubators from leading tech centres and combines this with a social conscience, aimed at skills, learning and community support for Jersey,” he said.
