Estate Agents brush up on latest regulatory changes

Thursday 04 April 2019

Senior members of the National Association of Estate Agents will be in Jersey tomorrow to discuss recent legislative changes with local estate agents.

The conference is organised by the Jersey Estate Agents Association (JEAA) - a body that monitors professionalism and conduct within the local estate agency sector - and will take place at the Pomme D’Or Hotel at 16:30.

Mr Mark Hayward, NAEA Chief Executive, will be giving an update on HMRC guidance, anti-money laundering and other legislative changes applying in the UK and relevant to Jersey.

He will be joined by Mark Bentley, President of NAEA Propertymark, Nathan Emerson (NAEA Propertymark), as well as Carey Olsen’s Head of Property Law Group, Chris Philpott and Senior Associate Will Whitehead.

Gill Hunt, the President of the Jersey Estate Agents Association and NAEA Propertymark Regional Representative for the Channel Islands, commented: “It is important that Jersey estate agents act responsibly and adhere to the high standards of governance expected by government as well as service to our clients and so the JEAA is pleased to bring over key national figures to inform us and we are grateful to our sponsor, Carey Olsen for helping to make the event possible."
