Islanders interested in changing career or learning something new are encouraged to attend a series of free events this week.

Organised by Skills Jersey and Jersey Library, the Jersey Festival of Learning runs until Friday and features a variety of talks, classes and one-to-one sessions that range from CV-writing help to information on starting a new business.

The programme also includes a talk about the psychology and biology of change for people who are anxious about trying something new, as well as practical help on topics such as networking, and drop-in sessions on technical engineering, digital marketing and design.

Among the highlights are talks by three islanders who will share their passions and hobbies to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

Led by Great British Menu contestant and Michelin-starred chef Lee Smith, the ‘Share Your Passion’ talks will also include human rights activist Natalie Strecker, as well as author and historian Ian Ronayne.

Stuart Penn, Skills Jersey Operations Manager, said: “The Jersey Festival of Learning is your chance to learn something new this month. Whether you want to pick up a new passion, freshen up your CV, or get tips on starting a new business, you can be a part of the Jersey Festival of Learning.”
