Google Digital Garage to help train local businesses

Thursday 12 April 2018

A Google digital expert will be coming to Jersey on 23 April to teach local businesses what is needed to gain a competitive advantage in the ever changing digital landscape, as part of a partnership between Digital Jersey and Google Digital Garage.

This will be the first time Google Digital Garage, a digital skills training platform to assist islanders in growing their businesses, career and confidence online, comes to Jersey.

Ronan Harris, Google UK and Ireland Managing Director, said: "In the digital age, a basic understanding of how the online world works is useful and when it comes to business, it’s essential. We are delighted to bring the Google Digital Garage to Jersey and ensure everyone has access to free digital skills workshops and 1:1 coaching. We hope you’ll pop in and get the skills you need to become more confident online, grow your career or business, and maybe even launch the next big ideas."

There will be three free sessions with the digital expert. One at breakfast titled 'Know your business with Data', one at lunchtime to explore a Social Media Strategy and one after work to discuss the possibilities of Digital Advertising.

Tony Moretta, CEO Digital Jersey, said: "These entry-level sessions are a great introduction to help any small business in Jersey to start to get to grips with the online landscape. It’s a fantastic opportunity to ask a Google Garage expert all the questions you have about gaining a competitive advantage online."
