HR Now celebrates fifth birthday

Wednesday 23 April 2014

Jersey-based consultancy HR Now is celebrating five years in business and a growth in business that today includes clients not just in the islands but also in the Isle of Man, the UK and Switzerland.

HR Now delivers services to a broad mix of companies across Jersey’s economic sectors, as well as in other jurisdictions. Since Becky Hill founded the business single-handed in 2009, she has been joined by three members of staff: Siân Phillips, Ceri Maltwood and Liz Lee.

When Mrs Hill started HR Now in 2009 the global financial and economic crisis was nearing its peak but now she says there is some light of recovery at the end of the recessionary tunnel.

“We have turned a corner with more clients preparing themselves for the future. Expectations in terms of people performance are higher so businesses are getting themselves prepared to manage under-performing staff through clearly written and understood policies, procedures and employment toolkits.

“On the other side of the coin, employers are also ensuring they have the right policies in place to be able to support and reward good performers, through increased investment in development schemes and continuous improvement initiatives,” she said.
