Jersey Finance appoints London Business Development Director

Friday 11 March 2016

Jersey Finance has appointed William McGilivray as Business Development Director for London.

In his new role, Mr McGilivray will be the main representative for Jersey Finance in London with responsibility for identifying opportunities and building relationships between Jersey and the City, and for supporting member firms with their private wealth management, funds and capital markets growth strategies.

During a 20-year career in the financial services industry, Mr McGilivray has worked closely with ultra-high net worth (UHNW) families and has also focused particularly on alternative investment funds.

Jersey Finance’s Deputy CEO, Richard Corrigan, said: "We are delighted to have William on board. Our focus at the moment is on developing inward investment leads from alternative investment fund managers and international banking groups, and engaging with key professional services firms in London. William’s breadth of experience across the wealth management industry and his strong network of contacts are valuable additions to the team and his role will further strengthen the important relationship we have with London's financial sector.”

Mr McGilivray was educated in the USA where he received a BSc in business from St. Michael’s College, Vermont, and an MBA with a focus on finance and investments from Clarkson University in New York.

Beginning his career in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr McGilivray provided management consultancy services to some of the USA’s leading asset managers, and developed particular specialisms in wealth management for private clients, fund management and administration.

Since moving to London in 2008, he has worked as a wealth management director for a leading financial service and trust provider, developing relationships with UHNW families and their advisors. He has also gained considerable experience in corporate and institutional banking, as well as alternative investment funds.

Mr McGilivray succeeds Richard Nunn, who has moved within Jersey Finance to be Business Development Director in the Middle East. He succeeds Richard Nunn, who has moved within Jersey Finance to be Business Development Director in the Middle East.
