Jersey has been judged the International Finance Centre of the Year for the second consecutive year in the Wealthbriefing European Awards 2014.
In naming Jersey as the top jurisdiction for 2014, the judges said that they were struck by how much work Jersey had done internally to enhance its profile in order to explore new markets.
The CEO of Jersey Finance, Geoff Cook, said: “We aim always to highlight the quality and range of services Jersey has to offer and its commitment to pursuing high standards of regulation and co-operation. So it is encouraging when Jersey’s strengths are acknowledged in this way and particularly so when Jersey is able to win such significant awards on a consistent basis.’
Richard Nunn, Jersey Finance’s Head of Business Development, UK, and Lauren Inggs, a Technical Manager at Jersey Finance accepted the award from BBC newsreader Sophie Raworth at the Guildhall in the City of London.
It is the second award this year that recognises Jersey’s strengths as a wealth management and private client location, the Island having been named International Finance Centre of the Year in the Citywealth IFC Awards 2014 in February.
The Wealthbriefing award follows on successes last year when Jersey was judged:
