JT Board appointment

Thursday 21 August 2014

Kevin Keen has been appointed as a non-executive director to the JT Group Board.

With a career spanning over 40 years, Mr Keen has held high-profile positions across a number of industries, including Managing Director of Jersey Dairy and most recently as Chief Executive of Jersey Post.

He is currently the interim Transition Director of Visit Jersey, the new body taking over from Jersey Tourism and is the non-executive Chairman of Jersey Water.

The JT Group is directed by the Group Board, under the Chairmanship of John Stares.

Mr Stares said: “I’m very pleased that Kevin has agreed to join our Board as a Non-Executive Director. His vast experience leading Jersey organisations means that he brings with him a wealth of local knowledge and in particular his previous roles mean that he has a very wide understanding of the challenges faced by utility companies. His passion for customer service excellence and his commercial background, also make him a very good fit on the JT Board. On a personal level Kevin is regarded as an individual who inspires and leads with enthusiasm and on behalf of the Board I would like to welcome him to JT.”

Mr Keen said of his appointment: “I am delighted to have been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of JT. The company is a very important one to the islands as a supplier of communication services, a major employer and a valuable public investment. I will very much look forward to making a contribution to the future success of the company.”

Mr Keen has also held honorary roles with a number of Jersey charities and is a past president of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce. He holds the ACCA and CIMA accounting qualifications and is also a Chartered Director.
