Jersey-founded liqueur brand to bloom abroad

A Jersey-born liqueur brand is looking to bloom abroad with a new export deal that will see it sold in Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria.

The new deal comes as Lanique - the 'Spirit of Rose' - was rated number one by customers at Waitrose.

The brand, which is owned by Lawrence Huggler of the Huggler Hotels Group, which includes the Club Hotel and Spa and Bohemia, has seen its online sales via Amazon growing by over 600% as more people turn bartenders in the comfort of their own homes whilst restaurants and bars have been closed due to covid restrictions.

“We are delighted that in such a short space of time Lanique has been rated the Number 1 Liqueur in Waitrose. Knowing we’ve hit the top spot due to customers’ ratings makes it all that much sweeter," Mr Huggler said.

“It’s fantastic to see Lanique opening up in new markets all over the world– and it all started from Bohemia in Jersey.”
