Friday 09 July 2021

Three local firms have been recognised in the inaugural eprivateclient ‘Excellence Awards’.

The awards focus on the “outstanding achievements” of firms across the UK and offshore legal, tax, fiduciary and advisory professions over the past year.

Carey Olsen is one of three local firms to feature among the winners having been named best ‘Private Client Offshore Law Firm’.

According to the judging panel, Carey Olsen stood out as a result of the firm's "ability to provide clients with with a full service legal offering, its excellent charitable work, its strong ESG credentials and development opportunities and initiatives available to the next generation of both clients and offshore lawyers."

“We're honoured to have been named the leading offshore law firm for private client work by such a well-established and respected publication,” Partner Keith Dixon said.

“Our global trusts and private wealth practice has had another standout year despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, which is testament to the calibre of the legal teams and staff at Carey Olsen. As always, we are very grateful to our clients without whom none of this would be possible."

Meanwhile, Crestbridge was named ‘Best Independent Private Client Trust Company’ at the Awards, with judges noting in particular “an impressive increase in revenue”, with 97 new starters and 60 promotions throughout the year, as well as “a strong focus on staff wellbeing”.

Heather Tibbo, Co-Group Head of Family Office Services at Crestbridge, said: “To be recognised as the best independent trust company and to stand shoulder to shoulder with a number of leading players in the private wealth space across all the categories, is a real testament to our strength as a team.

“It’s particularly pertinent that the judges highlighted our focus on wellbeing, which in the context of the past year has been pivotal both to our own resilience and to supporting clients, and our growth strategy as we continue to extend and enhance our international footprint.”

JTC was also successful in the inaugural awards, winning ‘Private Client Trust Company (listed/bank or PE owned)’ of the year.

The judges noted JTC’s continued growth, its wide range of services and “impressive” talent management programme, which helped contribute to JTC’s success. The company’s commitment to becoming carbon neutral by the end of the year was also commended along with its charitable initiatives.

“I am so proud of our hardworking private client services team,” Iain Johns, Group Head of Private Client Services at JTC, commented.

“Our people are based in offices all over the world yet we work closely together to consistently deliver top tier client service. This latest award for excellence is a further testament to the high standards we adhere to.”
