The Channel Islands’ largest IT firm has appointed five new recruits to its security and operations teams.

Logicalis currently employs 92 staff in Jersey and another 45 in Guernsey.

Samuel Munn and Karl De Sousa have joined the firm as Security Operations Centre Analysts, troubleshooting and assisting in the implementation of different technologies across the business. Mr De Sousa believes Logicalis will provide him with an amazing opportunity to further his career and guide him into a specialist area. He joins Logicalis having obtained the CompTIA A+ certification whilst working for a local charity teaching computer skills to the elderly.

Paul–Alexandru Andrei will be identifying potential threats for Logicalis’ clients and investigating security incidents in line with industry best practice in his role as SOC Security Specialist. Mr Andrei is most looking forward to building infrastructures from scratch and was impressed by the learning culture that Logicalis continually promotes.

Chris Brown has taken a role as an Operations Consultant having moved from a global legal services firm where he was an Information Security Infrastructure Manager. He was keen to be a part of the Logicalis team as he views them as being at the forefront of security services in the Channel Islands. Mr Brown will be looking to deliver the ISO 27001 accreditation across the Channel Islands business.

Chris Coates also joins the firm as a Network Security Specialist. With a strong interest in networking he will be undertaking the management of firewall solutions. Mr Coates holds a BA (Hons) Electrical and Electrical Systems Engineering and joins the company from another local cloud services provider.

Paul Johnson, Security Operations Manager, Logicalis said: “These new appointments are a direct response to the increased demand we are experiencing for our services. With information security and protection such a topical issue at present, it is essential that we ensure we have the most experienced staff on board to make us fully equipped to deliver a superior service.”
