The Lieutenant Governor General Sir John McColl presented Longueville Manor with the Trident Employer of The Year award this week as a ceremony to celebrate the job scheme's 30th anniversary.
The hotel has supported the Trident programme for seven years with 35 students undertaking work placements including working in the kitchen with Executive Chef Andrew Baird.
Education, Sport & Culture Minister Rod Bryans said it was vital that young people had a taste of working life before they leave school so that they could start thinking about their career and about what it means to have a job.
"Trident has provided this for hundreds of students every year and is a really valuable part of education in the broader sense," he said.
The Proprietor of Longueville Manor, Malcolm Lewis, said they were very proud to receive this award as the hotel took its responsibilities to education and teaching skills very seriously.
"It's really enthralling to find out how much the students have enjoyed the experience too. It is encouraging to see through Trident Jersey that there is a great contingent of local students interested in working in the hospitality industry. We will continue to support this grass roots initiative and to provide encouragement to students embarking on a career in this sector," he said.
