Ogier has advised on a transaction in which investors Urban Exposure Limited and US hedge fund manager EJF Capital LLC have formed a joint venture to finance residential developments in London and the South East of England.
Ogier acted for the investors in establishing the Jersey joint venture vehicle and international holding structure. The transaction involved a multi-jurisdictional team from Ogier led in Jersey by Matthew Shaxson and Richard Daggett.
Matthew Shaxson said: “As the only offshore law firm also able to provide advice on the international aspects of the transaction, Ogier was uniquely placed to assist on this transaction, demonstrating its expertise and experience in handling cross-jurisdictional matters of this nature.”
Urban Exposure is a non-bank lender offering a range of financing options for large developments such as Baltimore Wharf in London’s Docklands.
Clifford Chance acted for EJF and Freshfields acted for Urban Exposure.
