New appointments at Jersey Sport

Jersey Sport has made two new appointments to its team.

Cirsty de Gruchy has been appointed as an Active Island Manager and Jo Wills as a Communications Officer.

Ms de Gruchy will be responsible for managing the portfolio of 'positive impact programmes' which aim to inspire an active Jersey.

Ms de Gruchy said she was delighted to take up the new post. She said: "The draft Active Jersey strategy is ambitious and exciting, and our beautiful island naturally lends itself for opportunities to make active living a social norm.

"I look forward to being part of the dynamic Jersey Sport team and working with the many different government departments, agencies, charities, community and sports groups across the island to work collaboratively and create partnerships and opportunities to make activity more accessible to all.

Ms Wills will be responsible for leading Jersey Sport's marketing and communications strategies.

“I’m really excited to be joining the team at Jersey Sport to help drive awareness of living an active lifestyle and playing more sport. We live on a such a beautiful island where there are so many opportunities for anyone, of any age, to keep fit and lead a more active lifestyle,” she said.

Catriona McAllister, Jersey Sport’s Chief Executive Officer commented: "We’re pleased to be welcoming Cirsty and Jo to the team to help champion the cause of sport and active living within the island. Our growing team demonstrates the commitment we’re making to help get more people active in Jersey and the importance sport plays within the local community.”
