Jersey International Business School have announced that their 2016 CyberCrime Forum will be held on Tuesday 26 April at the Royal Yacht Hotel.
With leading cyber security experts this event will provide delegates with an insight into the current cyber threat landscape as well as assisting delegates to understand the threats that are facing the financial services industry as a whole.
The breadth of the challenge linked to cybercrime can sometimes be bewildering. Often senior managers and financial services professionals have more questions than answers about how to prevent cybercrime. This event aims to answer some of the burning questions and will serve as a roadmap for risk management frameworks.
This forum will feature speakers from local industry as well as global cyber security leaders who are fighting to raise awareness of the current cyber security risks within the financial services industry.
Chris Usher, CEO of Jersey International Business School, said: “In recent months, both local and global news has regularly featured clips and articles relating to cyber crime and recently Lord Eatwell spoke at the JFSC Annual Business Plan Update reinforcing the message that as a leading finance centre, we need to be cognisant of the daily cyber threats that imperil not only our organisations, but our clients as well.
"We are delighted to have attracted such a superb line-up of speakers and the Forum will give delegates a chance to ask questions of the speakers as well as the panel. It’s incredibly important that financial services organisations are aware of the risks facing industry and understand how they can be best protected."
Delegates can expect a fascinating presentation on 'Emerging Cyber Threats' delivered by Charlie McMurdie (Keynote Speaker), Senior Cyber Crime Advisor at PwC and formerly of Scotland Yard where she set up and led the Police Central e-crime Unit.
Other speakers include:
Oliver Gower, Head of Strategy and Partnerships, National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU) at the National Crime Agency (NCA) who will be speaking about ‘Building a response to cyber crime’
Lorraine Dryland, Senior Manager, Cyber Intelligence and Investigations at the Bank of England who will be speaking about 'Recent case studies in cybercrime'
The event is supported by KYC360, ICA, STEP Jersey, Digital Jersey and the Channel Islands Information Security Exchange.
The CyberCrime Forum costs £395 per delegate, with discounts available to members of the above organisations, and is worth 6 hours of CPD. Find out more and book at www.jerseyibs.com/cyber
