A group of local hoteliers are hoping their new website that goes live next month will attract more rich people from the UK who are looking for a luxury break on the Island.
They’ve spent £30,000 revamping the luxury Jersey hotels site, half of which has come from a grant from the Tourism Development Fund.
The Luxury Jersey Hotels website was first launched in 2010 by a consortium of four and five star independent hotels formed to promote the Island as a luxury holiday destination offering fine dining, spa breaks and even private jet day trips to Jersey.
With the help of local web designers Webreality the group have transformed the site in the hope of engaging and enticing more rich visitors. It can now be accessed from mobiles and tablets and the group have stepped up their presence on social media.
Patrick Burke who is chairman of Luxury Jersey Hotels chairman and owner of The Atlantic Hotel said: “By investing our own money in the site we are demonstrating our commitment to, and faith in Jersey as a visitor destination for the luxury market, and we are delighted that the TDF have shown their support for our efforts.
“We originally established the site in order to differentiate those elements of the visitor experience that appeal to the more affluent market, and that continues to be our focus, but the new site will reach out in a way that is much more dynamic, modern and exciting for the user.
“We will be approaching other businesses in Jersey that would appeal to our target market and inviting them to become partners on the site and because the members have invested in the redevelopment of the site, the money that partners pay will go directly towards marketing the site – and Jersey.”
Chairman of the TDF Peter Funk said: “We support organisations by investing in projects and marketing activity that will attract visitors to Jersey and stimulate the tourism industry. We welcome this move by Luxury Jersey Hotels, which will lead to greater interest in Jersey by this key group.”
The newly improved www.luxuryjerseyhotels.com is due to go live in February.
The Luxury Jersey Hotels group includes The Atlantic Hotel, The Club Hotel & Spa, Grand Jersey, L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa, Hotel de France and Ayush Wellness Spa and The Royal Yacht Hotel.
