New look and feel for Jersey’s premier business event

Thursday 05 February 2015

A new date, a new venue and an exciting line up of events and speakers mark the start of a new chapter for the Jersey Business Awards for Enterprise in 2015.

Established as the premier business event of the year, the Jersey Business Awards for Enterprise has been launched as the glittering finale to Enterprise Week, four days of concentrated and engaging events and activities from the 12th May focusing on the future of business in Jersey.

The 2015 Jersey Business Awards for Enterprise will be held on Friday 15th May at the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society headquarters in Trinity. The gala evening is a showcase of the best of Jersey business, with seven awards being presented on the night. The new venue will feature state-of-the-art staging and technology giving guests a spectacular night of celebration.

In the days leading up to the Awards’ evening Jersey Business is hosting a number of events, including a business tech fair, B2B exhibition, behind the scenes tours of organisations demonstrating best practice in topics such as leadership, change and energy efficiency, culminating in a conference that will take ‘The Future of Business’ as its core theme.

Entries open today for this year’s Jersey Business Awards for Enterprise and the deadline for initial submissions is Sunday 8th February. The process is simple and completely digital, with entrants submitting their stage one information online through the Jersey Business website.

At the launch event held at the Royal Yacht Hotel businesses interested in entering were able to hear the winner of last year’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Mark Loane of C5 Alliance, talk about the highs and lows of his journey as an entrepreneur and what it’s taken to build C5 Alliance. He went through the actual presentation he used with the judging panel for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2014, providing an invaluable example of a successful entry, and also explained the impact that winning has had on him and his company.

Graeme Smith, Chief Executive of Jersey Business said: "Jersey Business is firmly established as the go-to organisation for supporting local businesses through their life cycle and the Awards for Enterprise celebrate the entrepreneurial talent and skill that exists in the Island. 2015 sees the first step in our ambitious and exciting five-year plan for Enterprise Week and the Awards and I would urge local businesses and entrepreneurs to get involved by entering one or more of the categories, and joining us in May for our week of events and the showcase gala evening."
