Airport and harbour put roles on show

Employers and staff involved in running the island's ports will be gathering at the airport later this month for a 'Skills Showcase' providing information about the jobs available there.

Organised by Ports of Jersey, the event will take place between 16:00 and 20:00 on 23 January, and aims to give islanders an opportunity to explore roles across a range of industries.

Representatives from Ports of Jersey - including Jersey Coastguard, Air Traffic Control Centre, Airport Rescue and Firefighting Service, IT and Jersey Marinas - will be joined by business partners - airline ground handler Swissport, airport and harbour caterer Casual Dining Group and Condor Ferries - in the Departures Terminal at Jersey Airport.

They will be available to provide information about their full-time, part-time, weekend and seasonal positions, as well as potential training opportunities. While the 2020 Ports Skills Showcase is open to all, some roles might require five years residency. 

Passenger Services Manager for Ports of Jersey, Maria Le Tiec, commented: “We are looking forwarded to welcoming interested members of the public to our second Showcase, which features not only Ports of Jersey, but also many of our on-site business partners who will also be exhibiting.
