Pub chain Randalls, Trinity Manor Farm and Valley Foods have teamed up in a beefy initiative aimed at reducing their carbon footprint, while supporting local produce.
Together, they have created the ‘Trinity Manor Farm Burger’, which has been given the Genuine Jersey stamp of approval and is now being sold at all Randalls eateries.
Trinity Manor Farm is part of the Red Tractor (assured food standards) and LEAF organisation (linking environment and farming), says it is focused on producing high-quality beef and prides itself on the welfare of their herd, encouraging soil health and being as organic and environmentally friendly as possible.
“It's great to see a large local company like Randalls take initiative to create their local produce and support local on a deeper level," Martin Mitchell, General Manager at Valley Foods, said.
"At Valley Foods, we are delighted to be a part of producing the exclusive Jersey burger recipe for Randalls at our butchery department. By supporting projects like this we are heavily reducing our carbon footprint, and most importantly, especially during these times, supporting local."
The final recipe has been under development for several months, undergoing eight tastings to ensure the flavouring and production are of the highest standard, whilst ensuring everything is produced locally.
"At Randalls, we’re working on more 'Farm to Fork' collaborations and are constantly looking to support local producers and fishermen," Nigel Godfrey, Operations Director at Randalls, said.
"We are delighted to strengthen our partnerships by offering a burger that is locally produced and exclusive to Randalls. Not only does this help the wider community, but it also ensures that ’supporting local’ is distributed properly. After months of development, we are thrilled to now have these on our menus."
