Travelmaker shortlisted for power list of nation’s best agencies

Friday 12 January 2018

The CI Co-op Society’s Travelmaker branch has been shortlisted in the prestigious Travel Trade Gazette (TTG) Top 50 travel agencies in the British Isles.

The branch has also been selected as one of the top five high street agencies in the southwest region and made the shortlist and top five for the Top Touring and Adventure agency, a new TTG category for this year’s awards

Carl Winn, Travelmaker’s Head of Travel, said: "Travelmaker has had an extremely successful year and it is fantastic to have been shortlisted in these prestigious awards. Our Travelmaker Guernsey colleagues have also been named as a top five agency within our region. It is a huge achievement for our Travelmaker branches to feature twice in the top five shortlist.

"We’re also very excited that Travelmaker has been shortlisted and made the top five for the new Top Touring and Adventure agency award. It’s a credit to the hard work and dedication of my colleagues in each island who strive year on year to deliver the best service possible to our clients."

Pippa Jacks, TTG editor, said: "Now in its third year, our Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative takes us the length and breadth of the country to uncover stories of brilliant agents going the extra mile for their customers, giving great value, and serving their communities. With extremely stiff competition once again this year, any high street agency that has made it onto the shortlist should be extremely proud."

More than 900 travel agencies and branches put themselves forward for consideration for TTG’s Top 50 Travel Agencies 2018, in association with Kuoni, from which a shortlist of 95 finalists across 19 categories has been devised. The 95 finalists were selected a panel of 60 travel suppliers including airlines, tour operators, cruise lines and car hire providers. The agencies were rated according to their business performance, customer service and innovation.

In the next stage of judging, a TTG journalist will visit each shortlisted agency to carry out an assessment. After that, the name of the 50 agencies that have earned a place in the Top 50 list for 2018 will be announced in a ceremony in Birmingham on 26 April.
