Overview
The Jersey Brain Tumour Charity was formed in 2011 to support Jersey residents in meeting the challenges that a brain tumour diagnosis can bring. Our mission is to ensure that anybody who experiences a brain tumour in Jersey and their families, relatives and friends have access to information, and practical, emotional and financial support.
The Jersey Brain Tumour Charity
The aim of the charity is to ensure that any islander affected by a brain tumour whether directly or indirectly who has any level of need, is well supported with as much care as possible, informed and able to make decisions & never goes on this journey on their own.
There are 120 different types of brain tumours and until the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity was established in 2011, there were no local organisations specifically dedicated to support patients and clients affected by benign/cancerous brain tumours.
We provide support to anyone living in Jersey who has been affected by a brain tumour diagnosis whether it's a patient, family, relative or friend, providing them with Care, support, advice and information – practical, emotional and financial.
Our services are highly tailored to the needs of our patients to ensure we provide high quality and consistent support during times of uncertainty.
Here are our key “projects” that are vital to those we support all year round:
The impact of what we do – case studies
“I just wanted to say thank you for everything you and your team have done for us – we’ve had the worst 8 months of our whole lives, but you’ve been there for us all the way through. I’m not sure what we would have done without you.”
“After I had undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour, the Jersey Brain Tumour Charity provided me with genuine support at a time when I needed it most and their support worker really helped me along the road to recovery. The excellent service they offer patients and their families is invaluable”
